Membership in the Society is open to persons 18 years of age or older who shall present documentation that establishes a relationship with the Murray Clan, or those bearing the names of a traditional allied family: Balneaves, Dinsmore, Dunsmore, Fleming, Moray, Murrie, Neaves, Piper, Pyper, Smail, Smale, Small, Smeal and Spaulding, or any other family or Sept who may show an association with the Murray Clan.

Note that Canadian members must renew using the PDF form at left. US members can either renew online or using the PDF form.

The three classes of membership are:

1. Regular. Any person qualifying and applying for Regular membership and currently paying annual dues, as established by the Council of the Society. Regular Society members shall be eligible to vote, hold elected office or appointed position, and may serve in any appointed position.

2. Associate. Any person not qualifying for Regular membership, but who is willing to actively uphold the principles of the preamble of this Constitution, shall be eligible for associate membership in the Clan Murray Society. Each such associate member shall be eligible to vote and to serve in any appointed position, but may not hold an elected office.

3. Emeritus. Any Regular member who is at least 75 years of age and been an active member of the Society for a minimum of 10 years may petition the Council for Emeritus status. Emeritus members are exempt from the requirement to pay annual dues, but retain all rights and privileges of Regular membership.

The initial membership application fee is $25 (US$ or Canadian equivalent). Annual dues are $20 (US$ or Canadian equivalent). Annual Dues must be paid on or before September 1st of each year.

Two different forms are necessary for an initial application for membership. You can fill out the forms and print them on your printer. Mail the completed forms to the address indicated on the forms according to whether you live in the US or Canada.

Change of Address

Quarterly copies of our newsletter, The Aitionn, are part of your membership benefits. We mail the newsletter to US members by what the US Post Office previously called Bulk Mail. In recent years, the US Post Office has stiffened address accuracy reqirements for mailers such as us. We must have accurate address information as bulk mail cannot be forwarded.

United States members should click here to be directed to a form which can be filled out online and sent to our US Membership Chair by email when you click the submit button.

Canadian members should download an address change form which can be filled out in Adobe Reader printed and mailed to our Canadian membership chair:

You must have Adobe Reader installed on your computer in order to view and print the application form (version 7.0 or higher). If you need to either upgrade or get your first copy (this software is free) go to the to Adobe website to download the version you need. Click the icon at left to go to the Adobe site. You will see the same icon on the Adobe site. Click the icon and follow the instructions.

If members or others wish to make donations to the Murray Clan Society, it is posssible to donate online. However, The Murray Clan Society has not yet been designated as an Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(3) organization. Therefore, donations are not US tax deductible. Click here to make a donation.
